PARKING CONCERNS

LFAS recognizes that our parking situation is unique. LFAS is a school of choice which is not eligible for discounted school buses. Please do your part and choose a workable commuting plan for your family. For safety and courtesy reasons please ....

Use the Roundabout – To avoid congestion in the front of the school, please drop off and pick up child in the roundabout. Do not pull over in front of the school to drop off students. This make it hard for other vehicles to park and back in and out of parking spots.

DO obey the posted speed signs around the community and of course avoid blocking driveways, double parking & stopping in No Parking zones.

Do Not use St. Andrew’s Lane. This lane is very narrow and lacks turn around space and parking. LFAS vehicles are very disruptive to residents.

Handicap Parking Spaces - We are finding that parents are abusing the handicap parking stalls. We’ve seen this happen in a variety of ways, parking parallel to the spot thus blocking access to a vacant handicap parking space, parking in the space and leaving their vehicle, & parking in the space while still in the vehicle. It would be appreciated if the LFAS community could please respect the handicap parking laws and leave them available for those who truly need them.

Please do not drop off/pick up or park in the staff parking lot on Trattle Street. There are a limited number of spaces, and if parent’s park there, our staff members end up in the front of school area reserved for visitors and drop-offs. On days with heavy parking demand (special events, field trips, etc) you may need to go through to the rear parking lot by the theatre.

DO find a quieter time/location around the school to pick up – Avoid following the herd which can be frustrating. The Fort Langley Park at the corner of Nash & St. Andrew’s is a great alternative.

SANITY SAVER TIP - avoid the back or front at the busy times.... Hint, if it’s busy at the front the back is likely quieter and vice-versa!

Do consider carpooling or BC Transit options. A designated school bus special picks up and drops off LFAS students along the standard bus route through Walnut Grove and Langley City bus loop.
