Semester 1 Textbooks

Dear Secondary Parents and Students:

We are nearing the end of Semester 1. At the end of the semester textbooks need to be handed in and this process seems to cause a lot of problems and confusion. We are asking parents, as well as students, for their help. Following is the procedure for returning textbooks. Parents, please read this over with your child(ren) and encourage him/her to correctly follow the steps outlined.

  • During the last class of the semester/or at the final exam, students are to hand in their textbooks to the teacher and retrieve the textbook card. If he/she does not get the textbook card back, then the book will be shown as not returned.

  • Do not leave the book on a table, desk or shelf in the classroom. Students must get the textbook card back from the teacher. LFAS teachers have many demands on their time and attention; if the teacher is unable at the time to give you the textbook card, keep the book until you are able to get the card. If a TOC is in the class and doesn't know where the textbooks cards are kept, keep the book until the regular teacher returns.

  • At the beginning of Semester 2, teachers will assign textbooks. Teachers hand out textbooks with a textbook card for students to complete. Students record their names and the serial number of the text assigned to them. Students are responsible for this textbook. Don't leave the book unattended for someone else to pick up. Keep your textbooks with you or store them in your locker. If a student hands in a book with a different serial number, he/she is still responsible for the original book assigned to him/her.

Please follow this procedure. Hopefully, it will alleviate the problems experienced in the past. If there is a concern regarding a text, please contact the teacher directly. You can access the list of staff email addresses from the school website LangleyFineArts.com ). Thank you for your cooperation.
